Travelling to Scotland Part 1 - Edinburgh
As a travel photographer, travelling to Scotland and Ireland had long been on my bucket list, and finally, the dream came true. We arrived in Edinburgh by train from London. The journey was easy, and we reached the city around 10 PM. After checking into our hotel, we rested and prepared for the days ahead.
Day 1 – Edinburgh Old Town
Our plan was to take it easy and explore the city at a relaxed pace, but that did not happen. There was so much to see that we ended up walking all day.
We started at the University of Edinburgh, exploring its grounds and historic buildings. Along the way, we visited a few local bookstores and small shops. We then continued to the National Museum of Scotland before making our way to the Old Town. The music, food, and energy of the city made the area feel alive and welcoming.
Later, we visited the National Galleries of Scotland, home to an impressive collection of artworks. We spent about two hours there, enjoying both classic and modern pieces.
From there, we crossed the city and, after about an hour of walking, arrived at Holyrood Park. We began our hike to Arthur's Seat, which took around two hours. The view from the top was breathtaking. Seeing Edinburgh from above was one of the highlights of the trip.
Day 2 – From Edinburgh to Glasgow
The next morning, we picked up our rental car and started our road trip toward Glasgow. The drive was not just about reaching our destination. We made many stops along the way to explore different places.
At first, driving on the left side of the road felt a little strange, but I quickly got used to it. It was a new experience, especially on the narrow roads with heavy traffic.
One of our stops was Three Sisters, a beautiful and unforgettable place surrounded by stunning scenery.
We then continued to Fort William and later visited Ben Nevis. We spent some time walking on the trails, enjoyed lunch and coffee, and took in the views.
After a long but enjoyable day, we arrived in Glasgow around 9 PM.
