New York City, The City of Surprises

New York is a city of surprises. I know that has been said many times, but somehow, it is still true. Every time I walk around the city, I see something I haven’t seen before.

For me, one of the most interesting aspects of this huge city is its people. Walking around New York sometimes feels like watching a fashion show that no brand sponsored and no one organized. Everyone has their own style. You see artists, workers, tourists, commuters, and people simply trying to get somewhere and keep up with the city's pace.

Something about New York feels different. Everybody moves fast. Everything moves fast. There is no fixed clock. The city seems to follow its own sense of time.

Travel through the city, moving from one subway station to another, and you can see dozens of small stories. Most of them have nothing in common except one thing: New York.

That is what makes photographing people here so interesting to me. People share the same streets, subway cars, platforms, and sidewalks, but everyone seems to be living in their own world. Sometimes it feels like people barely notice each other. Somehow, all of these separate lives exist together, each person finding their own way through the city.

I walk around, trying to capture some of those moments.
